Burn Season is CLOSED and back yard burning IS NOT permitted as of December 15, 2025, Spring Burn Season is expected to start March 1, 2026.

When burn seasn is open, the responsible party must check  ODF/DEQ http://smkmgt.com/burn.php. website the day they plan to backyard burn.  Find the BOLD Section titled “backyard burning inside special control areas:” that will display if current environmental conditions allow burning that day and at what times. Follow that advisory. In the Adair Rural Fire District, the station is not staffed 7 days a week. There is no requirement to call the local fire department or local ODF office before you backyard burn as requested on the ODF/DEQ website.
