Burn Information

A wildfire danger gauge indicating a "moderate" risk level.

Please see color coordinated Public Use chart for restrictions.

Backyard burn season is currently CLOSED.  There has not been enough wetting rain to safely burn.

In collaboration with the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), the Benton County Fire Defense Board (BCFDB), representing the fire agencies of Adair, Alsea, Blodgett, Corvallis and Corvallis Rural, Hoskins-Kings Valley, Monroe, and Philomath, has announced a delay in the start of the fall outdoor burning season.  The BCFDB will evaluate conditions during it's October 17th meeting to determine whether to open burn season or extend the closure.

Within burning season, specific weather conditions such as inversions, high winds or low humidity will still prohibit burning. The Adair Rural Fire District follows an ODF/DEQ  Willamette Valley Open Burning Annuncement  to account for these variables. Do not call the Adair Fire Deparment as stated in the ODF/DEQ website, simply follow the bold text in the section titled "backyard burning inside special control areas."  Unless there is a clearly commuinicated local burn ban, Adair's fire district allows burning locally based on the start and stop times on any day the ODF/DEQ webste allows.
