What is the Association?

The Adair Rural Fire & Rescue Association is a non-profit entity operating separately from the Adair Rural Fire & Rescue Department. The Association supports the fire prevention and life safety services provided by the department. The Association also provides social and charitable fellowship to the members.  The Association is not a union. The Association is run by the fire department members, to help the members be even better servants to the community.

The Association's budget relies solely on donations, grants, and fundraising events.  The Association is organized under Chapter 65 of the Oregon Revised Statutes and Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. EIN ID #99-2290687. Registry Number 224600395.  Contributions of $50.00 and above receive a tax-deductible donation receipt

Anyone can make a difference by financially supporting your local volunteer Fire Department.  We are a smaller department; every donation really does make a big difference. Contributions can go toward our next general fund project or be dedicated to a specific donor's interest.

Recently completed safety and performance improvement projects include:

• A portable and powerful wildland pump for accessing any static water source.
• Small handheld thermal imaging cameras to find heat sources in obscured visibility. 
• Structural firefighting helmet lights to always be ready for any low light environment.
• Firefighter multitools. A few tools always need to be in our pockets ready to go.
• Extrication gloves for safety and dexterity.
• Radio harnesses to secure our communications equipment safely beneath our turnout coats.
• Wildland helmet lights for night-time operations.
• Dedicated training and education funds to further develop our volunteers.
