Access and Water Supply Worksheet

The Benton County Building Department may ask you to contact the local fire department when building a home, outbuilding, addition, deck or other improvement to your property.  In most cases the county will ask for a completed Access and Water Supply Worksheet.

Please follow these steps:

  1.  Familiairize yourself with the Linn/Benton Fire Protection Guide addressing the code requirements we endeavor to sustain. These standards are provided in good faith to apply best practices that are considered to be in compliance with the intent of the Oregon Fire Code.
  2. Download and accurately complete  the access and water supply worksheet.   
  3. Provide a site plan including the driveway layout with turnouts and turnarounds as applicable.
  4. Provide engineered drawings for any new construction.
  5. Provide any existing records or new engineered drawings for bridges.
  6. If you plan to use alternate construction methods, the county may also ask for the Alternate materials and/or methods applicaiton.
  7. Submit all documentation to Cheif Harris. Email to  aaron@adair-rural-fire.com or deliver in person to our main station at 6021 NE Marcus Harris Ave in Adair Village. 
  8. Chief Harris may respond with additional questions or ask for a site visit with the applicant present to better understand the project or advise solutions.
  9. Approval: As our resources and the regulations allow, its our goal to be timely and keep your project moving.
